Capturing the beauty of the spectacular Four Corners region is the goal of "plein air" painter, Judy Morgan. Formerly a marine art specialist from Newport, RI., she now concentrates on the varying landscapes of the rugged Rocky Mountains and the remote desert areas of the Colorado Plateau. The successful landscape artist's most recent oil paintings, acrylics, and watercolors reflect the dramatic shapes and vivid colors of this wilderness terrain. The stimulus for Judy Morgan's creativity is the attraction to the natural landscape. The Artist maintains that nature provides the very best painting subjects including the beauty of the mountain light, the desert formations, and the concepts and designs of coastal waters. Judy Morgan gains energy and excitement from painting scenes on the spot, out of doors. Her resulting pieces are mostly impressionistic, although when she paints from nature, the results can be an abstraction of the scene or may end up being quite representational. The work of the Artist, including stunning landscape paintings and colorful abstract art, may be viewed locally in the Artist's personal gallery at Ponderosa Studio in Durango, Co., at Houshang's Gallery, Canyon Road, Santa Fe, New Mexico and at Galeria Bellas Artes in San Carlos, Sonora, Mexico.
